Privacy policy

What this site collects, why, who handles it, and how to have it deleted. In plain English.

The short version

  • This site uses no tracking cookies, no analytics and no advertising pixels.
  • We only collect what you choose to send us, through the contact form or by email.
  • Photos you send through the photo demo are read, then dropped. We do not keep them.
  • We use it to reply to you, and to work with you if you become a client.
  • We never sell it, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
  • Ask, and we will delete it.

Who we are

Esperian Digital is based in the United States. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Esperian Digital. For anything about your information, email hello@esperiandigital.com.

What we collect

When you use the contact form

Your name and email address, and anything else you choose to give: your business name, how many locations you have (if any), the boxes you tick, and your message. We also record which page the form was sent from and the type of device and browser you used, which helps us spot spam.

When you email us

Your email address, and whatever you write.

When you visit any page

Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used for security and to keep the site running. We do not use it to identify you.

The site's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address when it does. Google's own privacy policy applies to that connection.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry.
  • To prepare a proposal and to work with you, if you become a client.
  • To keep a record of our conversations.
  • To protect the site from spam and abuse.
  • To keep the photo demo within its daily limits.

We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it to make automated decisions about you. For visitors in the EU and UK, we rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and on taking steps you have asked for before entering into a contract.

Who handles it for us

A small number of service providers process information on our behalf, only to provide their service to us:

  • Vercel hosts the website and keeps its server logs.
  • Supabase stores contact form submissions and the photo demo’s daily counts.
  • Google and Groq read photos sent through the photo demo.
  • Resend delivers form notifications to our inbox.
  • Cloudflare runs our domain and routes email sent to our address.
  • Our email provider receives and stores email.
  • Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces.

Your information is stored in the United States. If you contact us from another country, it will be transferred there.

The photo demo

When you send your own photo through the demo at esperiandigital.com/try, your browser shrinks it first and sends it over an encrypted connection. Our server passes it to an AI service to be read and sends the answer straight back to your browser. We do not store the photo or the answer, and we do not log them.

You can also take the photo with your camera. On a phone, your phone’s own camera opens and the page receives only the photo you take. On a computer, your browser asks your permission first and shows you the camera’s view; the page uses only the photo you take, never a recording, and the camera turns off as soon as you take the photo or close the camera. The camera is never switched on unless you ask for it, and the photo is then handled exactly as above.

The photo is read by an AI service run by Google, or by Groq when Google is busy. The demo uses Google’s free tier. Under Google’s terms for the free tier, Google may use what it receives to improve its products, and its reviewers may see it. Groq does not keep what it receives by default. So use a photo with nothing private in it, and no people.

To keep the demo within its limits, we count how often, and how recently, each visitor uses it each day. We do not store your IP address for this. We store a scrambled code made from it and the date, which cannot be turned back into your address and changes every day, and we delete these counts after two days. Your browser also remembers today’s counts, and which sample photos it showed you, on your own device, so the page can show them. The sample photos are read the same way and counted the same way.

While the demo uses Google’s free tier, it is not available from the European Union, the rest of the EEA, the UK or Switzerland.

Cookies

The public pages of this site set no cookies. The only cookies on this domain belong to a private sign-in area used by Esperian Digital, and visitors never receive them. Because the site does no tracking, it behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as they are useful for replying to you and for our business records. If you become a client, records of our work together are kept for as long as that work and our legal and tax obligations require. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own policy. The photo demo’s daily counts are deleted after two days. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email hello@esperiandigital.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, for example California, the EU or the UK, you may have further rights under local law, and we will honour them.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

Everything sent to and from this site is encrypted in transit. Stored enquiries can only be read by signed-in Esperian Digital staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the date at the top of the page.
